My computer is a Windows environment, can I still host on a Linux server?
Absolutely. The server environment has nothing to do with your local computer environment.
What is the difference between a Linux server and a Windows server?
There are many differences but the main differences are speed, stability, reliability, uptime, and cost. Windows servers experience the same bugs that your Windows computer experiences, they also inherit the same virus vulnerability's. Linux however, catches no virus' and patches are implemented daily without interruption to your service, giving you a more powerful environment for your online business.
My domain name is registered at another registrar. How do I host it on Web Host It servers?
Regardless of where your domain name is registered, you can host it with any web hosting provider of your choice. When you sign up with our services we send you a welcome email that will contain our name servers. You will need to visit your registrar and modify the current name servers listed for your domain name to reflect our name servers. Once you make those modifications it will take up to 72 hours for the changes to propagate across all the networks at which time your domain name will come live on your hosting account on our servers and you will be able reach your account using your domain name www.yourdomain.com from your web browser.
How do I access my account on your servers before the name servers are propagated and my domain name is live?
The welcome email that we send when you sign up will include account login information that will permit you to access your account prior to dns propagation. This allows you to upload your web pages and to access the control panel to setup the features available to you.
Are there any setup fees or contracts required for web hosting plans?
No, there are no hidden fees or setup fees and no contracts for hosting plans.
I see that you offer a 30 day money back guarantee. How does this work?
Our money back guarantee applies to all first time clients. In the event that you are unsatisfied with our services within the first 30 days of service we will refund all hosting fees upon receipt of the account cancellation request form.
I see that some of your hosting plans mention multiple or additional domain hosting, what does this mean?
This means that you can host more than one domain name in these account plans. This eliminates your need to sign up for additional hosting plans if you have more than one domain name with their own pages.
What kind of support do you provide and how do I obtain support?
We provide technical support for any issues that pertain to our servers. We do not provide technical support for your use of 3rd party scripts or html coding for your web pages unless you have purchased one of our site maintenance programs or script programming, please refer to these sections for more detail. Technical support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including Holiday's. Support can be obtained via the Live Assistance link Monday through Friday, 8:00am EST to 6:00pm EST, or by submitting the Technical Support Request Form. Our techs are on duty around the clock and respond to support form requests within 4 hours of submission.

Is Web Host It a Registrar?
No we are not a registrar. We are an affiliate of Bulk Register. It is through this affiliation that we are able to register and manage our clients domain names.
I'm interested in signing up with Web Host It for a hosting account and I want to register my domain name, how do I get both?
You will have the option of registering your domain name on our order form and it will be processed at the same time that your account is setup.
My domain name is currently hosted with another service, how do I move it to Web Host It?
When you sign up for a hosting account with us you will receive a welcome email that will contain our name server information. You will then need to visit your registrar and modify the current name servers for your domain name to reflect our name servers. Once the modifications are made at your registrar it can take up to 72 hours for the changes to propagate across the networks at which time your domain name will come live on your account on our servers. If you need assistance making the modifications, we will be happy to assist you, however, your registrar should have detailed instructions for modifying your name servers in your account with them. My domain name is currently registered through another registrar and I would like to transfer it to Web Host It's registration services, how do I do this?
This can be easily accomplished by submitting the form in the Customer Care Center titled Transfer Domain Registration To Web Host It. Once we receive your request we will initiate the request with Bulk Register. Bulk Register will then send a confirmation email to the Administrative Contact as it is listed in a Whois report for your domain name. You will need to follow all instructions contained in that confirmation email in order for the transfer to be successful. Transferguard must be disabled at your current registrar prior to submitting the transfer request, and your domain registration must not be expired with the current registrar and there must be at least 14 business days before expiration in order to initiate a transfer request.
Are there any fees for transferring my registration to Web Host It's registration services?
The only fee that will apply will be the cost for the 1 year renewal that is automatically applied for any domain names transferred. Please refer to our Domain Registration page for registration and renewal fees.
If I register my domain name through Web Host It, will I retain ownership or will Web Host It?
You will always retain ownership of any domain names that you register through Web Host It as long as the renewal fees are up to date.
What happens when it is time to renew my domain registration, do you offer Auto Renewal?
All hosting clients have the option to be setup on auto renewal for any or all of their domain registrations for as long as they remain a hosting client. If you elect auto renewal, each year, 1 week prior to expiration of your domain registrations your registration will be renewed and your credit card or checking account will automatically be charged the renewal fee. In the event that your credit card or checking account is declined for charges, renewal will not process and an email will be sent to the Administrative Contact asking them to provide updated billing information to prevent the loss of their domain registration.
If you elect to not be setup for Auto Renewal of your Domain Registrations, Bulk Register will send a total of 4 emails notices to the Administrative Contact beginning 60 days prior to expiration. When you receive this notice you will need to visit our Customer Care Center and submit the Renew Domain Registration form at which time your domain registration will be renewed.

I'm interested in purchasing a custom template packages, how does this work?
These packages are only available for our existing hosting clients, or if you are signing up for a hosting plan.
Once you have selected a template, a custom template package, a hosting plan, you will be directed to our order form where the details of your selections are already inserted. Upon our receipt of your order we will submit an email to you confirming your request which you will need to sign and fax back to us. Upon receipt of your signed fax we will setup your hosting plan and install the template design into your account. We will then email you the specifications for submitting your Text, Ad Copy, photo's, and any other information required for us to begin customizing your template. During the process of customizing your template we will email you of our progress.
Once we have implemented all of your content, and any options that you have selected, we run a spell check across your site and validate all internal links, we then submit an email to you for your first review of the site. There are a total of 2 reviews covered in the price of the template package that you have chosen. After your first review, we make any requested changes, and then submit an email to you for your final review and also ask you for the list of email addresses that you want setup for your account, and again we make any requested changes and create all email addresses. After the final review changes are made, we then validate all html code and optimize all images so that we can be sure that your site loads as fast as possible for your visitors as well as to insure it adhere's to today's html standards so that your site is friendly to the search engines and directories. Once this process is completed we upload the final pages to your domain and submit your site to the search engines and send you a completion email.
In the event that you request more changes after the final review, your one hour of modification period is invoked. In the event that you exceed the 1 hour, you will be charged $45.00 per hour, billed in 20 minute increments. In the event that your site exceeds the quoted page allowances, disk space, photo's, forms, etc. allowed for the package you have purchased, we will contact you prior to continuing to arrange payment for additions indicated for the package.
What if I change my mind and decide I do not want the template?
Once you sign and fax back confirmation of your order, the template is immediately purchased in your behalf from the template designer and the template is released into your account, therefore the fee for the actual Template is not refundable. The remaining fees, (fees after subtracting cost of template), are refundable anytime prior to you submitting the text and ad copy content for your template. Once you submit this information to us our designers immediately start the customization process at which point no refunds will be made. Your site will look identical to the screen shots we make available to you in our Template Area with the exception of your own content being in place of the temporary info already shown in the template at time of purchase. It is important that you take your time browsing our templates and making your choice.
After I purchase the custom template package, do I own the design?
Yes, it is yours to do as you choose however, it can only be used under your domain name. It can not be duplicated or modified for any other domain name, unless you purchase another copy of the template itself.
How do I request modifications and updates pertaining to the 1 hour per month of maintenance that comes with my package?
Simply visit the Client Care Area and submit the form titled Maintenance & Updates Request form with your specifications and the modifications will be made or if necessary a designer will contact you for further information.

I'm interested in purchasing one of your templates without a custom template package, how do I do this?
Our website templates are only available to our web hosting clients. If you are not currently a hosting client you can select the template that you want and click on the link for signing up as a new client and you will be guided through the sign up process. Once we receive your request and process your credit card or check, we will purchase the template in your behalf and install it into your hosting account. Once your account is setup and template installed, we will send you a welcome letter that will contain your account information and how to access your account.
Are there any instructions for editing the templates?
Yes, however, editing templates requires HTML knowledge, editing software, graphic placement and editing of graphics and any scripts required for the template. There are basic instructions for editing your template in the Account Management Area. Prior to purchasing a template, we recommend that you download a sample template and give it a test drive, click here to download.
What if I change my mind and decide I do not want the template?
Template fees are not refundable once it is requested because it is immediately purchased in your behalf. This is why we display the actual template in our template area for your review. Please take time viewing our templates and making your decision. Your template will look just like it looks in the template area. As a Reseller, how much control do I have over my resold accounts?
When you sign up as a reseller, your primary reseller account will be set up with a Web Host Manager. From the Web Host Manager you can activate accounts, delete accounts, suspend accounts, unsuspend accounts, upgrade or downgrade accounts, setup pointers, modify mx records, view bandwidth usage, etc. You have complete control over your resold accounts.
Do I have to sign up as a Reseller in order to resell your plans?
Yes. This is the requirement to become a reseller of our services. The account plan that you are provided with is the same as the 300mb plan and works in conjunction with your Web Host Manager Reseller Privileges to track your activity as a reseller. You use your account plan for your own pages to advertise your hosting services.
What plan is used for my Reseller account?
When you request to be setup as a reseller, your primary account, which is your reseller account, is setup using the 300mb account plan with all its features as displayed under the reseller plans for your clients. Please see our Reseller Hosting Plans page for a list of the features for this plan.
Are there any setup fees for my initial account or for my customer's accounts?
No, we do not charge any setup fees EVER for our hosting plans or reseller plans.
How is customer support handled for my customers?
We support and bill you while you support and bill your clients. We provide your clients with an extensive manual which is located inside each Control Panel. When a reseller or their client(s) is unable to resolve a problem, the reseller simply submits the Support Request Form located inside the Reseller Account Management Area on our site and we will respond to you and you respond to your client. We do not allow our resellers to send support request directly from their clients. Support Requests must be submitted from the reseller.
Does it take a long time to answer support request that way?
All support requests are answered within 10 minutes to 4 hours. The exact amount of time depends on what our support request load is like, but all support requests are answered within 4 hours. If you've done your research on other providers, you will have found the standard turn around time is 24 hours.
What about billing, how do I pay for my resold accounts?
All billing is setup for auto recurring on the Monday prior to your initial sign up date. When you add plans, the fee for that plan will be prorated to your initial billing date and then when your billing processes for your reseller status, you will be billed the prorated fees for any accounts that you have setup and the discounted monthly fee for those accounts. Lets say that you became a reseller on the 15th of the month. If the 15th does not fall on a Monday, billing for your account will process that Monday before the 15th. Lets say that you add a resold account on the 25th of the month. The fee for that plan is prorated to the 15th of the next month. On your billing date you will be billed that prorated amount, plus the normal discounted account fee.
Does this mean that I have to pay for my customer's accounts before they pay me?
Yes. You are our client and we bill you for the usage you use, not according to how your client pays you. We bill and support you while you bill and support your clients. Our 30 day refund does not apply to Resellers once they add a resold account to their reseller plan and our 30 day refund never applies to your resold accounts. If you click to create a plan, you will be charged for it.
Will there be multiple billings on my credit card or checking account?
Only if you registered a domain name, otherwise, your credit card or checking account will show only one billing each month. Domain registrations are billed separately on the same day which they are requested.
I understand that paying by credit card or checking account that my account will automatically be billed each month, but what happens if I do not have enough funds to cover the charges?
Most people know how much credit they have available on their credit cards, and we count on that. In the event that the charges will not process, we will submit you an email and request that you provide us with a valid credit card within 48 hours. In the event that we do not receive a valid card to charge, your account and all resold accounts will be suspended and a $25.00 reactivation fee will apply before reactivating.
Do you provide monthly statements or send invoices before billing our credit card or banking account?
No. Your banking or credit card statement will reflect the charges made against your account. As a web hosting provider, you are responsible for maintaining your own accounting and billing system. You are responsible for keeping track of your own clients.
Does your 30 day money back guarantee apply to resellers?
The 30 day money back guarantee applies to the INITIAL Reseller Account ONLY, however, once the Reseller sets up a resold account under their initial reseller account or the initial 30 days expires (whichever comes first), the money back guarantee is no longer applicable. Web Host It can not be held liable for any fees or promises that our Reseller's make to their own clients and do not refund fees for your resold accounts. We DO NOT refund domain registration fees for ANY ACCOUNT.
What type of support do you not provide?
We do not provide technical support for 3rd party software, scripts, html, or other software that you may utilize to build your site, nor do we install your scripts for you or figure out what is configured wrong unless you hire us to install your script, please refer to our programming page for information and fees.
How do you deal with accounts that have violated your policies?
While most issues can be resolved between Web Host It and the Reseller, spamming violations are controlled by the backbone. In the event that the backbone receives a complaint due to spamming, they delete the account in question without any prior notice to Web Host It or the account in question. We have very strict policies regarding spamming. If your account was deactivated from your previous host due to spamming, then more than likely you will be deactivated from our servers in the event you continue such behavior. Our 30 day money back guarantee does not apply to accounts that are deactivated due to ANY violations of our policies.
Web Host It does take legal action for spamming violations.
When I sell an account how do I get it activated?
When you sign up to become a reseller you will receive an email stating that your initial account has been activated. That email will contain instructions how to log into your Web Host Manager where you can begin activating your accounts...no wait time. You have total control over activating, deactivating, suspending, unsuspending, and upgrading your accounts.
What if I need to cancel one of my resold accounts?
This is easy too. You enter your Web Host Manager and terminate the account.
Can I offer New Domain Registrations to my clients?
Yes you can and you can charge whatever you wish beyond what we charge you for registration fees.
